iPhone OS 3.1.3 Software Update Now Available

Now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch is the iPhone OS 3.1.3 Software Update.

iPhone OS 3.1.3 Software Update is only available through iTunes, and will not appear in your computer’s Software Update app, or in the Apple Downloads site. It is recommended to update to the latest iTunes before updating your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Fixed Issues:

  • CoreAudio - Playing a maliciously crafted mp4 audio file may lead to an
    unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution.
  • ImageIO - Viewing a maliciously crafted TIFF image may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution.
  • Recovery Mode - A person with physical access to a locked device may be able
    to access the user's data.
  • Webkit
    • Accessing a maliciously crafted FTP server could result in an unexpected application termination, information disclosure, or arbitrary code execution.
    • Mail may load remote audio and video content when remote image loading is disabled.

To check if your device was indeed updated with the latest update,

  • Navigate to Settings
  • Select ‘General’
  • Select ‘About’
